Airoh and Maria Herrera, at the San Marino and Riviera di Rimini Grand Prix, have written a small piece of the history of the World Championship.
The young Airohrider from Oropesa, Toledo, engaged on the track in the new MotoE category, after scoring the sixth time in the qualifications, repeated in Race 1, confirming the same position and then improving in Race 2, finishing fifth at the finish line.
On Sunday, in the Race 2 Maria constantly fought for the podium and for a few laps she was third and then finished, as mentioned, fifth; a result that represents the best performance ever for a MotoE woman rider.
With the points collected over the weekend, Maria Herrera also conquers the thirteenth position in the world rankings when, at the end of the first season that sees the electric motorcycles on the track, only the last two races scheduled for the weekend of the Valencia GP are missing.
